One of the next mods I'll need to do is to get some drag wheels underneath my car, but I'm not sure of the Pro Star route since virtually everyone runs them, though they still look nice! Post a pic of what you're running!

I go against the flow and just run Nittos on my stock rims.

A club member that recently turned his motor into a bird house used to run this.

That car was so far beyond streetable though I guess I am just posting it to show what a back halved turbo Buick ready for drag racing looks like.

275/50/15 at 15 PSI. Dont forget to put them back to 30 PSI if you drive to the track or you will be in for one wobbly ride home.

One thing though, if you dont want them to spin on the rim at such a low PSI you will need to either bead lock them or put them on dry. If the shop rubs the soapy water over the bead before getting it on the rim you will most likely spin them a little. I didnt pay attention the last time I had tires put on and they did just that. I marked the tire and rim before racing and spun the driver side tire about a quarter inch on the rim.

I have set of those on Craiger wheels for sale if anybody interested and yes they do hook up ,my car run mid 10's on them with TE63 turbo 7/8 psi take off with trans brake but like you said you have to take them down to 15 psi which is poor ride on the street and with 25-30 psi in them once you make over 500HP to the wheels they brake loose very easy , on the other hand 295 /16 MTs on GNX rims right now I run at 20-22 psi all the time and traction is perfect all the time , I used MT 255/16 in the past and I have to say for me they had more traction then Nittos also :smile: so I'd say Nittos are great for 12 sec maybe high 11sec car all aound and even down to tens in same situations but that's it ,just my opinion

MT ET's 28x10.5 on a weld prostar 15x10, 5.5 backspace. Frame has been shaved and wheel well lips rolled. Remember....the frames are the same.

I have these M&H 275-55-16' drag radials mounted on 16"x10" wheels which I use occasionally on the street, but I have never tried them at the track...

I used them too , same or just a bit better then Nittos , still MT will win in my opinion even in 255 size over 275 from H&M or Nitto, it's MT's rubber mix I think

Cool, I've been wanting to get something for my GTAs and those look nice. I assume no modifications right?


Anyways I run Nitto DRs right now 315/35/17.
