Didn't even know what my post count was before this but now see I am approaching 5000, do you get some sort of award for reaching this milestone?

SignUp Now!If the site was free to ALL then bandwidth would be a concern.Political forums = more posts = wasted bandwidth = more cost to run the board
Ty got in the system.. he wants to make sure he has the most posts on here too
Look at YellowBullet.com, NO advertising and the post count over there is probably 100 fold of hereIf the site was free to ALL then bandwidth would be a concern.
Considering Vendors keep this board running it is the number of views that dictate how often a vendors banners is actually viewed. How often the banners are viewed is what matters to the people paying to keep the site afloat with their $$$$$.
Vendor banners are seen in the PV section as they are in any section. Not to mention the paying vendors that comment in the PV are now seen when people view their comments and therefore can see or click on their banner link in their sig.
Like I said, I think the PV is sorts toxic to a car forum board but the extra bandwidth used comparred to the number of additional views to PAYING members is what really matters since they are the ones paying.
If ALL members want to pay to view this site then advertising would not matter. But since NONE of the members who are not vendors do not pay then bandwidth use is not a factor. Number of views are.
Apples to oranges. It's not a board dedicated to one type of car. Of course there would be 100x the post count.Look at YellowBullet.com, NO advertising and the post count over there is probably 100 fold of here![]()
Notice my post count dropped by........1
I am politically inept. (and I really don't know what inept means, it just sounds like it should follow the word political)
Guys this is no big deal. This helps speed the board up some, I am sure not noticeable to the average user but... It also allows google and other search spiders to work more efficiently in indexing the content that this board was intended for...
Nothing has really changed but post counts and a few less bots crawling around all the time...
The forum hasn't closed, the posts haven't been deleted. It just simply is not indexed like the rest of the board anymore....
Can we get rid of the bots on t6p please:biggrin: I am tired of good deals on purses and blue jeans and when that chinese guy posts in chinese that pisses me off!

Now what size tires fit on the back of a GN, and can I fit 275/60/15 tires on a 7" stock rim?![]()
How about this entire thread being a waste:biggrin:" What's the difference between a post in the political section and a post in the lounge?
Or a post giving bad advice in the tech section?
Or making up something to post in the kill section?
Or a post bitching about Keith Meese for the eight billionth time?
When "Nice kill!" counts as much as a well thought out post on injector sizing I think you are being a tad inconsistent in saying a post in the political section fails to pass some quality test.
And for those of you complaining about PV... the political section was created many years ago to keep that stuff out of the lounge. At the time everybody was very happy about that. Now we have people calling for it to be trash canned because they don't like it. WTF? Just don't go there.
I personally think the kill section is beyond stupid. (A lot of boards don't even have one so as not to encourage street racing.) But if some people like it, fine, I don't have to go there.
As for drawing a crowd... that's kind of a stretch... but corvetteforum has a huge political section (which actually moves too fast for anyone with a job to keep up with) and they seem to do OK. "
Bingo![]()
How about another am I an idiot poll in the lounge by Otto so I can get my "legitimate" post count up?![]()
How about deleting moderator vendors posts since most of them are BS. sales pitches or damage control.![]()
When you think certain posts are "worth more" than others you have become an elitist.![]()
Now what size tires fit on the back of a GN, and can I fit 275/60/15 tires on a 7" stock rim?![]()
+1 for the post counters.![]()
