Does a Powder Coated part have a orange peel texture to it? I had some parts coated and was told thats the look of Powder Coated parts?

shouldn't. Sometimes large flat surfaces "may" get a orange peel look if the powder is a applied thick. What did you have coated?

It depends on the temp at which it's baked, the thickness of the coat and the prep work. If everything's done correctly, it should look like glass.

Some powders lay out smoother then others. Or if the temp comes up to fast the powder locks up before it flows out giving it a orange peel look...

FWIW, here's a pic of my powder coated frame.

I had a bumper coated amd radiator support bracket. I had them redo the bumper and was told thats how coated parts will look? It looks just like orange peel. I should have just painted them instead

Bengel black (Tiger Drylac) is about the slickest that I have seen.

Here is what they looked like

 That looks a little heavy. (Thick) probably preheated it and coated it
hot or warm. The mils really build fast when its hot.

I'm going off of memory, I think it was $160 to have it sand blasted down to bare metal, and then $400 to powdercoat the frame at a separate shop.

I delivered the frame only to the blaster and picked it up at the powder coater. This was done up in Michigan. Finidng a coater that has an oven large enough to fit a frame may be difficult.

I'm glad Glenn clarified that statement by adding 'the oven, that is.' :)
