SO I had a couple members on here recommend that I get a power logger to track conditions on the engine. I was under the assumption that there were needed items that would be in combination to the PL to make it work correct. I did a search and came up with more assumptions, but I do not want to ASSume anymore.

I have a SM, and a whole bunch of other crap in my sig.

Thanks!!

All you really need with the PL to make it "work" is a lap top, and I know you have one Toby! :)

If you add a wide band O2 you will have more precise info about your correct air/fuel mixture and can dial it in if necessary.

Since you can log many data points from idle to WOT you will have hard data to refer to about your tune if something is not acting the way it should within your entire performance envelope.

I had a call today from a customer that is now using the PL I recently sent him, and his GN went easily and safely from low 11's to mid 10's by using data and the correct adjustments he was able to make, and that is CHEAP HP! ;)

The power logger is a great tool by itself. However I believe a wideband and a wideband chip complete the piece. So many cars on this board would run so much better if they had those 3 items

100 % agreement here from an amateur. Wideband is really needed as well. I installed one on the test pipe-ran the wires into the center console and right to the powerlogger block. Check my tune anytime. The answer in my case is Eric at TT designed the chip so well that it does not need adjustment. Running a 5.7 chip.

will be ordering the WB, PL, to compliment the SM and everything else that I got going on. I too have the TT 5.7 chip. I can see myself having a conversation with him about making any changes necessary soon. My license plate is living up to its name!!

I looked on TT site and noticed that the wideband chip requires at least 50lb injectors? http://www.turbotweakstore.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=1026

Or did he somehow burn a wideband functionality into a 5.7 classic chip???

I confused you. I run the TT 5.7 chip and have a wideband 02 sensor. The wideband o2 sensor is only used with the powerlogger for tuning purposes only. The TT 5.7 only has four inputs. The TT 6.01 has eight. I chose to keep it simple and adjust for 4 parameters. The other issue for me in ditching the 6.01 chip is its reliance on the wideband 02 sensor. I am a little bit spooky here due to two blown headgaskets. A 6.01 TT chip with bad wideband o2 sensor failure is unknown to me. This is why I went back to the 5.7 chip and its simplicity. I use the Razor Alky kit on a safe tune. Max boost is 20 ibs controlled by the waste gate actuator. The waste gate solenoid and hoses are disconnected. It runs 12.6 in the quarter on a fat tune. If you want logs let me know. Brad

ok, I follow you. I have an email into Eric as well to see what would be the best option which sounds like my 5.7 chip and yours are burnt the same. So your WG is tied in tuner style I take it?

A picture is the only way to go. Yes tuner style. No need for boost contollers and all the bs. Also see how I modified the single hose waste gate actuator. No more BS damaging the hoodliner and any plate. Have Eric look up my chip. His specks are dead on correct.with my car. Brad

thanks, i notice I have a little hit with my actuator rod, especially now since the conversion to the GBP 3" pipe

Without lowering the single hose actuator the hoodliner will take a beating. I destroyed a beautiful TR Custom Hoodliner Plate due to this problem. Hoodliners and Pad plates do not exist in the market........

I've got mine logging wbo2 and boost off an aem map. I think it's the best thing I've put in my car.
