This thread is to see who else has been using the power plate with a spacer and not intended to be negative towards the plate or Race Jace.
So, I was told by Race Jace to put the power plate right below the 70mm TB and Kenne Bell plenum with the 1/2 spacer right below the power plate.
After blowing #5 on an o ringed head with alky, 800 millivolts, 1 degree of knock and only 22psi I have a feeling that the spacer being below the plate is not the best way to go. I am sure the head did not blow only due to this run, its possible that it was other knock issues in the near and distant pass that also attributed.
I now see it as the plate was designed right on top of the intake so that the distribution is super close to the runners. Having the 1/2 spacer below it might cause some turbulance and end up negating the plates positive distribution. Considering #5 blew like most do without the plate, it would seem like the plate really was not helping out at WOT.
Anyone see this differently?
I will be putting VPE stage 3 heads on ( I have to use the spacer due to an inlet bell/IC pipe clearancing ) this time around with the plate going right on the intake just like RJC designed it on the flow bench.
I also was not able to run any extra boost at WOT like most did with the power plate. It still knocked with 16psi on 93 octane after the plate install, I am hoping this time around it will turn out much better.
