I would like to flush out my power steering fluid. Does not make noise....just some preventive maintenance. I am going to remove fluid with an old turkey baister. Was thinking of putting in some ATF....running it for a minute then remove more fluid.....was gonna do this a few times since I cant get all the fluid out at once. For my final fill......is there a recommended fluid?

Regular clear GM rated power steering fluid is all you need and all I've ever used in 23 years.

Had a leak once so I had to pull the lines and reservoir off so I did change out the fluid once that way and once with the turkey baster.

That's in 23 years too. :)

With both wheels off the ground take the return line off and have something to catch the overflow. Then unlock the steering wheel and turn it with the engine off. Most of the fluid will be pushed out by the gear box. Then attach the retun line again and fill her up. Then turn the steering wheel again until you get most of the system filled back up. Faster but a little messier.
