I know there's people in here with the skills to do it. I saw they're looking for someone to host a show and I figured maybe we could get Buick guys in there and that way maybe they'll actually put some Turbo Buicks on TV. So heres the link so hopefully the most skilled and knowledgable people here will go out and make us look good. If you do make it put in a good word for me with Courtney Hansen.;)

The Next Big Wrench - myPOWERBLOCK

Would be great to see some turbo Buicks represented...though I don't know how well the ratings would go. I brought up this idea some time ago and the general consensus would be "who wants to build a 23 year old V6?"

And at the same time I'm thinkin "who gives a sh!t about a SBC that's been getting the same build ups in magazines and tv shows for the past 50 years. And how many times can you do a 302 build or an LS build. Geez HP tv is just as bad as hot rod and gmhtp. At least musclecar has the balls to do a buick, even a smog car at that. With all the different combos for the buick v6 and all it's possibilities, They could get 2 seasons out of doing just engine builds. n/a v6, stroked 4.1 n/a, destroked 3.8, stage n/a build, carb turbo build, SFI 109 build, 4.1 turbo build, and a big daddy stroked 4.1 stage motor with twin turbos. Oh wait, I remember HP did an olds 455 build once and pimped out a cutlass conv.

HPTV did do up a Civic once, I don't how well the ratings were but I believe that was the first and last import they had on the show.

I've actually written the show asking to see something other than a Chevy or Ford V8 build. They finally started doing a few Pontiac builds and a few Chrysler builds. Yes there was the Olds build and I believe that was also the first and last one they've done. I don't think I've ever seen them do a Buick build. They did do up one AMC build also.

But yes I'd be all for an LC2 build. As long as HPTV had some good knowledgeable people (not clueless cue card readers) and had some turbo Buick vendors to sponsor them. OTOH perhaps Stacey David would be willing to tackle a TR project?

I myself wouldn't want HP to do a buick build. I would rather see the muscle car guys do it, but that isn't the way the POWERBLOCK works. Yes, if HP could get some good help and a give a few vendor spots that would work well. Then have the guys from musclecar do a restification to a beat up GN or TR to slam that beast into it. Now THAT powerblock I would watch:cool:

For the heck of it I might just apply and see what happens. Lived in TN for 10 years so I know the area at least.

They actually are doing a Buick at the moment.......a '73 Century:rolleyes:. Also in the opening for Powerblock TV if you pay attention there is about a 1 sec shot of a GN, but I think that's about as close as we're gonna get to TV fame for our cars unless Charlie shows them what our cars are really about.;)

One of the guys I work with is in college for video production and is going to get everything to do a video as well as fix everything up. We're planning on Saturday evening but we're playing musical scheduals at work again this week. One guys on vaction and another just had a family member pass so we may not get to do it until Monday or Tuesday next week. I might just post a link to it when it's done so you guys can get a laugh or give me thumbs up.
