power master

Don't give up and go vacuum now,you already got a new unit!O.K. listen up,the red wire (term c) should have power all the time.it is the fuse power brk 30 amp.If you follow the wire from pump motor it goes to the coolant fan relaywhere it shares a spade connector with the wire that goes to bulkhead fitting on fire wall to fuse block.SO test for 12 v. at pump motor ,then test for 12v. at fan relay (does fan work?) Look for bad/lose connection along the way ,including good voltage at the socet in the fuse holder. And if you do give up and go vacuum i'll gladly take that "bad " one off your hands :)

HOLY CRAP I think you are onto something...I actually CUT those relays out of the harness because I don't run a stock fan setup anymore...you are saying that power wire shares a connection with one of the relays??? man I bet that's what happenend...I cut those relays out after the car last had brakes...so I just went through all this for nothing...thank you so much that's exactly what I wanted to hear! it all makes sense now! :)

uhhhh I just remembered something...I don't have those relays anymore! Can I hardwire it somehow? I know that sounds bad, poor car...I didn't mean to cut you up like this :frown:

Holy crap!

I found the end of the red wire where it is cut from the relay...at least I made everything nice and neat so I could trace this easily. Can I just wire this into the big solid red wire going to the C100 connector on the firewall? Now I'll have brakes again! Yay!

I bet those guys at the counter thought I was an idiot for bringing back two perfectly good powermaster units...LOL man I had no idea the power wire for the brakes was tied into a fan relay. Good job GM...way to keep everything on the SAME circuit! My favorite is when I installed my GNX dash and took out the volts light bulb for the idiot light and somehow that bulb completes the charging circuit of the WHOLE car and I drove to another town and back on just the battery and couldn't figure out why the car wouldn't hold a charge...

Holy $hit! I guess the wire was severed afterall. Probably a nice clean cut from a pair of wire cutters  .
