anyone running this turbo i want to know what u are running in the 1/4 and what u like about it if anyone has any insight

I have one. I can't really give you much info on race trim. I haven't ran it with race gas yet. On 93 octane and alky at about 23-24 lbs of boost I pulled 405 hp and 545 tq to the wheels with a 3500 n/l converter. At the track with the same setup and not really tuned, I'm pulling 12.0 @ 115 with a 2.0 60'. The car just wont hook on my nitto drag radials. FYI a buddy of mine that is good with these cars has a heavy gn that he ran 11.0 with a 52.

I think I've run some of the fastest times on a 54. Best E.T. is 10.50 @ 128.8. Other ancillary items are Precision front mount, Champion iron heads, home ported intake, 72 lb. Siemens and Maxeffort "R". HTH :)

Scott,
I thought you told me you also have a roller cam and a trans break. Is this correct?

The best I've gone to date with my PT54 is 10.99 at 122 w/ fouled spark plugs. 26psi and 24 degrees of timing.

Min Stall and Injector for PT 54

Whats the minimum stall and injector?
I have a 2800 stall l/u with 009's translator and CAS V4 but if the turbo lag is there I will upgrade if necessary.....Thanks Steve Chambers

You'll need a true 3500 stall for a 54. Also, you'll need at least 50 lb injectors. I went with 55s. I don't know much about the 57s that are out now, but they may work.

I don't think you need to go all the way to 3500 for a 54. I drove one for about 3 years with a modified stock "2800" stall unit that went to about 2600 or so at zero psi boost, and it was laggy. Mat the pedal from a dead idle and the boost would hit at about the 60' mark, just before the 1-2 shift, giving 2.4-2.5 second 60's. I also have ATR headers which hurt some so this would be your worst case. On the footbrake I could boost up to about 7-8 psi but the tires would only hold 3-4 so my 60's were 1.9-2.0 or so on a fairly slippery track. Then I went to a 10.5" 3200 stall (zero psi boost at about 2900) and it became a Nitto frying monster :-). Mat it from idle and the car moves about 3-5 feet and it rips the tires loose and starts laying tracks. Now I can hold well over 10 psi on the brakes but the tires still only hold 3-5 psi so my 60's aren't much better, sigh :-). Yes, I know I'm wasting my time until I get slicks. A friend also runs a 54 and uses an art carr 16930 3000 stall 9" and spools with no problems at all, so I don't think you need to go all the way to 3500 stall. To me that's a lot of slippage and heat for the street if you don't absolutely need it.

I use the Vigilante "0" pump which is I think 3000 or 3200. Not sure. Spools quick.

stall

How would a PTS 9X11 that does about 2800 @ 0 boost do?

I'd say pretty good...I have a 53 with a stock stall and it's laggy, but not horrible...I have a 3000 stall in the trunk, I expect it to spool instant when I get that in...I can build boost just fine on the foot brake, and my brakes are crap only one rear is doing anything.

Mine goes 105 MPH@15 PSI on straight 93 through a stock intercooler...On race fuel and 24 PSI@90* ambient it pulled 330 HP and 420 TQ on the dyno, not great numbers, but this was through CRAP exhaust with a unknown 26* chip, and the injectors were pretty much static.

Estimate on PT54

Can someone give me an estimate on the PT 54 Turbo on this combo? Stuff like HP/Torque/Estimated Times?
Thanks

Hey Mike,

Got some odds and ends to take care of, got the 50's in there, still waiting on my billet fpr, and vacuum block gasket and pcv valve from AC Delco, Hey Mike, I need to come over some time and check out that turbo setup, just want to be one hundred percent sure that I am hooking it up correctly. Ill drop you a call sometime within the next couple of days or so.
Thanks Mike,
Steve Chambers
