M/T ET Drag (P/N 3055) 28x10.5-15 on 15x10 Weld Pro Stars, 10.5 psi cold tire pressure on my old TSE car. Best 60ft 1.45, best ET 10.07 @ 135. Car weight with driver # 3670. Best tire I personally have run for the track that lasts awhile.

For the street, I've had a lot of friends that have had good luck with Hoosier DOTs and slicks.

only got to make a few passes on my car. it sat for 4 years then i took it to the track after 3 days of tunning. ran 12.6 @ 108 with a 1.68 60 foot. this is with 5 year old (26X10.5X15) MT ET Streets and 100% stock suspension

M/T E.T. drag tires 28x9-15.. Best 60' time Ive got so far has been a 1.59. Thats was with 12 psi air in them. I thought it was not too bad considering all I have is a stock suspension with 2 bags and a pinion snubber.:D

I personal have never bettered a 1.51 with my present 28x9-15 Hoosiers. This however, was on the foot brake. I'm looking forward to seeing how the TH400 w/ Rossbrake will 60ft now that the suspension will be allowed to work.

M/T here 28x10.5x15's..........10psi cold.......best of 9.08@152.30 and best 60' 1.33.

Lou, what have your 60fts been? What size tire? Thanks, Brian
Because I'm too busy supporting others I'm not allowed my own race car. I'm working with Brent ( underboost ) 1.45, 60's & have watched Mike ( nordyracer) 1.39, 60's Bill Andersons customer,both 9 second cars improve their 60 fts going from goodyear's to Phoenix. 28.5 x 10.5.Not familiar with any other brands.If your just relying on tires for good 60 ft's your missing the boat,Torque converters,suspention set up, Launch techniques,turbo sizeing,camshafts ,Cly heads,Track conditions,attitude etc. I know I'm stateing the obvious but all must be considered to answer your question.

Current Tires: Hoosier 28x11.5x16 Quick Time Pro DOT
60': 1.49
ET: 10.50

Also used to run MT 26x11.5x16 ET Street
60': 1.47
ET: 10.69
This 60' and ET were with a TE64 turbo and 3.08 gears

Both work great for me :) I think the Hoosier is a little better tire overall for guys like me who dont have a trailer and race on the same tire they drive on.

M/T ET Drags 28 x 9 on stock T wheels...only one pass at the strip, works well on the street:biggrin:

I'm using Phoenix F/X's 10.5X28.5 and I'm very happy with them, I got 1.50 60ft's ...

Rich and Steve, what mods were needed to fit the 28"x10.5"s. Brian

>>> Brian,

When I built this car 4 years ago while it was in for the cage I had them notch the frame. I run these slicks on 15x10 Weld rims with a 4.5 backspace.

Hope that helps.........gonna stop down at Etown Labor Day Brian? If so look us up.

I'd love to run @ E-town. Don't know if my 1/2 ton will love the trip as much as I do. If I only had a diesel like the big boys. It would have been great to make a pass after the Nats a few weeks back ( my local track isn't that sticky at the starting line ). I have been pondering the move to Phoenix, but with the odd sizing, I'll have to figure out what will fit. My car has 0 mods to the wheel well area, so the slick will have to be spot on with my 8" wheels. Brian

>>> Brian,

I used to tow with my F250 and it did OK until I just sold it and bought a F350 diesel.......best move ever.

FWIW on my GN years ago I ran 10.5 wide tires without a notched frame and the same 15x10 rims with 4.5 BS and never had a rubbing problems.

Even if you dont bring the car to Etown stop down and say Hi, we can share some stories and after the Saturday races we all head back to my house for the Rich's Auto BBQ.
