pressure drop ?

At min. tv at idle pressure is---110
At full tv at 2000 rpm pressure---260
The trans shifts perfect at part throttle--with a 600 psi gage taped to windshield--pressure goes to around 180-190 and stays there during shifts.
Problem is if I go to wot from a roll---pressure goes to 200 and then falls back to around 80 --car will not shift out of 1st at wot.
Any ideas as to what would cause this pressure drop. Thanks

Cavatation

Pump is sucking air. Sounds like filter is sucking air. Try addding a quart or so over and seee if it goes away. If so, get the proper pan and filter assembly.
Or You have a sticking tv and.or pump tv boost valve, but I would bet cavation.

Thank you for the quick reply. I have a 1 in. deepened pan with an extension to drop the filter to the bottom of pan. Also the trans is full up to the original full line, so I will drop the pressure reg. assembly and look for a problem there.
