I have recently upgraded to 87 ECM, Casper's thumbwheel, added MAT, 86/87 coilpack and IGN module and all else stock 84/85 sensors. Upgrade was done to correct recurrent code 42. Code 42 was fixed by upgrade. I have somese spreadsheets from turbolink. At idle, numbers look good to me. Going down the road, BLM drops through the floor (90's). This seems to correspond to poor response from MAF(84/85). No codes thrown. I have tried an aftermarket 86/87 MAF but I think it is faulty (immediately drives BLM to 150). Am I thinking correctly here?

sorry no data

Apparently I can not attach Spreadsheets. MAF data does not track with rpm and tps. The MAF numbers run low, BLM's 90's. The only time MAF no.'s go to 150's is near WOT. Generally very Lean. No knock though. AM

If you're only seeing MAF numbers of 150 at WOT (did I read that right), you have a faulty MAF. Even at lower boost levels, you should see MAF numbers going into the 200's at WOT.

I believe that is the problem. I don't think the 87 ECM and chip plays well with the 84 MAF. The 84 MAF did work well with the 84 ECM and chip. I have already bought one aftermarket 87 MAF which does not seem to work any better (drives BLM's to 150's). I am wondering if I should go with a late model MAF and the translator. Thanks AM
