problem saving file

i just got my fast setup today from jack cotton
when tryin to work offline it is not allowing me to save changes
and when i open the program it tells me it is a demo version
do i have the wrong software? or does it need to be plugged into the vehicle?

It has to connect to the ECU one time before it will come out of demo version (which won't allow you to save files)....

thanks i will be installing it in a few days, just waiting on my vlve springs so i can put my heads back on
