where could i get the propane kit? would the solnoids be the same as for nitrous. i would like to primarily use propane, then add more propane with nitrous. i just can't find any racing applications. i'm guessing that i would need a different cam set up, but hey, i get a break on the fuel pump. i wonder if i could machine the intake for multi port propane injection? i see nice spots that i think i could.

Make your own. I built my first prototype out of parts I could find locally. Nitrous parts work, seems like the regulator came from Builders Square and the tank came from a local propane company.

You can do anything that you set your heart to.

If I were you I would look for a good used OGS "ProPain" system and replace the control unit with a progressive/tuneable one like the ISAC or similar. You can pick the ProPain kits up pretty cheap as everyone essentially gave up on them. I have a complete NIB OGS kit sitting at home for spare parts, not that I have needed them.

You probably wont. Thats one of the most overengineered things Ive ever seen. Everything in that kit is about 10x more capable than it needed to be.

It's too bad the Propain kit never came to 100% fruition, I'd bet that along with Alky would be a killer pump gas setup. The thing that seemed great about Propane Injection was you couldn't really over saturate the engine with it, yet it seemed like you couldn't get enough in it. I would've loved to have seen the two work in Harmony together on someones GN.

Then run them with E85:eek:

Ahem... please note the contents of my signature. ;)

Hell Ya, throwing some Juice on top too huh. Any comments on when it was Propane and Alky like, psi/timing on what Octane? I assume you added the Juice last after you had those dialed in, how big is the hit?

Mr.T has the Meth dealer, Juice dealer and Chef all cooking under the hood, nice.

LOL.

Now this is all off of the top of my head as I don't have my records at the office. The variables are that this is on a completely stock engine and using ethanol-free gasoline @ 91 octane, with the addition of propane it brings the octane up to ~100, and E85 is used for alcohol injection/knock suppression; the nitrous will be used for 1st gear spooling (for now ;)):

a) Gas + Propane = 30psi @ 18* timing
b) Gas + Propane + Alky = 27psi @ 25* timing
c) Gas + Propane + Alky + Nitrous = untested, still waiting on some programme work from Bob Bailey for the MAFT Pro

With respect to "Gas + Propane + Alky" I am going to need to adjust the AFR curve to suit boost conditions at/over 22psi as that is when the Alky kicks on and seemingly "floods" the motor for a moment before there is sufficient air flowing and/or the MAFT Pro can compensate. But, it sure is fun when it gets rolling.

I get some really funny looks and comments when people see this (no, not the 315 tires on the stock frame):

do you have a few pics of your spare kit? what would those spare parts go for? propane would be the best choice for me... i can see it now... bro meet me for coffee...bring your bbq tank...lol
on a side note. i have a slim twin tank that could bolt up in place of the gas tank

what about those 315s'? did you mini tub the wells? or just off set wheels?

Was there ever a recorded Temp drop with Propane?

I'd have to make a log to determine if this occurs. It wouldn't be too hard as the IAT is after the propane nozzle and I know the switch-on point for the propane.

I could do EGT as well... as soon as I get a new amplifier for the PowerLogger.

Leave it with me I'll get it done in the next few weeks (hopefully).

Unfortunately they aren't for sale. I suppose you could do a dedicated fuel system using LPG; I just wouldn't want to build/tune it.

Offset and other creative measures. ;)
