The only down side I see to the precision design is that it doesn't have as an efficient thermal dissipation as the Garrett style does with the water jacket and the ex side of the bearing assembly typically has a lot of carbonized oil on it. I'd be concerned if the dry bearing housing design was to be used for continuous wide open throttle usage at high loads. Other than that the only thing that seems to vary is the machining of the bearing housing more so than the Garrett units. Don't doubt the reliability of the turbines either even though they are made overseas. They are the correct alloy for high heat. Precision has their own turbine wheels these days and no longer uses the turbonetics f1 wheels. I always VSR the ball bearing turbos after the component/assembly balance is done.Not exactly but did a Google search....
