Just got my Gn back from Progressive Auto here in Detroit (Roseville) MI. Car has been tuned and I run 25lbs on Alky with no knock :o) The major component I was excited to see the results was my 3000 stall 9-11 converter I got from Bruce! Well before I was running a stock d-5 converter (At least i think, pretty sure though) with a TE-60. Everyone one was telling me its gonna be acopletely different car and etc, I was getting excited. Spool Up was kinda sluggish with the D-5. Im not sure what differences I suppose to see though. Spool up is better however with the 9-11. i wouldnt say its a different car though? Ive heard stories of guys gettings their new converters and now they smoke the tires when they step into it. Should I be ripping the tires up too. Im on Nitto drag radials and it get a lil squirrley from a dead stop at times , but it doesnt roastem up or anything like that (It did that with the d-5 sometimes too though). I dont noitce any difference in daily driving or street or higway driving, so i guess thats good right. I havnt been to the strip , but my best with a 1.90 2 something sixty foot was 12.4 @ 114-115 mph. Im going to the strip this weekend so we'll see if my car 60fts and overall see if my time improves. If I want that tire ripping, scary to drive GN, should I have stalled it higher? I wannna roast my Nittos too! I have one free restall so any suggestions would be appreciated. Bruce if your out there let me know what i should expect from the converter. One of the reasons i went with this converter is from what people were saying on here and his Customer Service. Im poor but I do like quality products and plan on having my GN a long time and I dont mind paying a premium for good customers service. Im going to call PTS but thought I would get some opinions from you guys. But like i said overall the benefits ive seen so far is quicker spool. Do I need to goto the track to experience the full potential and benefits or should i have it restalled? Sorry for being so winded but Im just trying to get some input.

Thanks

HI V-8, Give me a call a little later this afternoon, or e mail me and I will try to get you with Bruce so he can answer any tech question you may have. The biggest difference will be seen at the track, but let us know and I will try to have all your questions taken care of,,,,,thanks, Mark

Thanks, for the response. I appreciate it. thats what i mean by good Cust. Service.

Well any other thoughts or experiences out there?
Let me know what you think.

thanks

V8killR4U - I was the one that talked to you @ the Moterplex about the 9/11. I figured it'd make a lot of difference - it was night and day in my car. How high does it stall @ 0psi? Might be a little tight - I know mine is a little loose.

I plan on going back to the track next Wednesday - It'd be cool if you came up.

Later
Jeremy

"NoCooler" Whats goin on? Yeah I got my 9-11 and, well you read my thread. Car is tuned and running good though. Took it in and Bruce said is was running on 5 cylinders:eek: Not sure if it was running on 5 that day at the track, if so then I hope to see the 11's this weekend (weather permitting). Goin to Lapeer. Yeah hopefully we'll bump into each other at Mid MI., being my car is back in the Detroit area I dont know how often Ill make it their. Probably do Milan and Lapeer when i can. Well let me know how you do if you go, Ill post some times pretty soon. Ill see how the converter works at the track though. Talk to you later man

We'll be waiting to hear your response after the track V-8. I had a call Friday afternoon from Crazy Pete in Fl., he was willing to give me his first born for the difference his 9x11 made in his car. He said it scared him with the hook up, and he is fearless. But each result is slightly different depending on car and all. You will notice a difference for sure if everything else is up to par. waiting for your post after the track,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Mark:D

Well I went to the track. "Lapeer" and let me say this track sucks! (Dirt Pits?) Ill never go back there. The facilities sucked, the track sucked. Can you see where this is going. I couldnt hook for S$#t!!! Best time 12.412 @ 111.56 mph 60ft @ 1.966. Boost was set somewhere round 25-28 lbs. on 93 and alky, saw a lil knock, like 4-7 *. All previous runs were 12.6 something same or worse 60 ft. Why the Hell cant i hook, I could barely come off vacuum and the tires would break loose? I mean everyrun i spun the tires! Im on nittos? Heated them up once too, just to see what would happen. Same results though. So overall, i dont know im gonna go to a different track and test. (Midmichigan) Also I had forgot to turn the timing up as well from 18 to 24* (Would that make a difference in ET!) My goal is 11's on street tires. Will I ever see the elevens with this combo on street tires? Why can i hold 5lbs of boost on the street at a give time, and none at the track. Its that because the tires are up to temp because i was driving ? I dont know im kinda frustrated. So maybe the converter does work, i cant hold any boost and i do spin the tires pretty good. Stay tuned for real results when i come from Mid michigan! What do you guys think. 11's on nittos? Am i dreaming or what

I'm dreaming too but I ain't even as close as you.

Keep trying. :)

Hey I'll take a 12.2 corrected to 11's from 2500 ft. altitude at LVD even.

4-7 degrees of knock at those boost pressures are too high. You'll be doing head gaskets or worse soon.
