When drilling out the oil return from the seal, if the drill breaks through the body by the slide is it junk??:o

Jim

It will just be a return to the pan so it is ok. Seen quite a few that were broken thru and trans still functions properly.

Cause the slide itself seals the press. Is that correct? The pump in ? had low press. like 50 lbs. idle min. TV & was slow to build boost press. also low too 140 max.TV.

Maybe something else was amiss , but I took it out & put the press. reg. setup & slide spring in another pump & had 90 @ min. TV & 235 max.

This isn't now it was before code OG is just fine.

Yes, the slide seals the pump pressure. The o-ring and steel ring seal that up. If it is broken into the cavity outside of the slide area, it'll be ok. Just got done pulling my BQ trans out of my 85 GN and going to fix a 2-3 slide. Clutches starting to burn from last Friday night drags. I need to fix before this Friday night. Running out of time. :D

Maybe the pump halves are not parrallel to each other and it's bleeding off internally. Had one I built for a big block Camaro that had pressures like that after about a year of hard use. Got another pump body and measured out the old one and it was concave. Stator side was better than pump body side. :(
