Pushrod Length on M&A heads?

I'm wondering if anyone is using M&A alluminum heads with the screw in stud and small block chevy roller rocker on a 109 block and a flat tappet hyd. cam? I need to know what length pushrod your using. Thanks.

I am using exactly what you describe, but my pushrod length will do you no good. I can't remember it off hand anyway! I decked out the locwire receiver grooves out of them so a whole lot was taken off, actually, it took that much to get them straight anyway. I recommend find out exactly what your motor needs. My engine builder told me that we could go .050 either way on the pushrod length, but the ones I got with the heads were .080 out, so we ordered the correct size it needed of course.

Yeah you should always measure for your specific engine. To many things can change the length you need to work right. Frank

Thanks for the replys guys. Frank do you have the correct way to find this length without removing the intake? I have the motor running right now and it sounds ok at idle but when you rev it past 3500rpms it sets off the knock sensor to hell. I've got them set at 1/4 turn past zero lash, wondering if the p-rods might be to short right now? Thanks.

Comp Cams has a pushrod length checker , easy to use and do not have to take the intake off

OK since it's together and running. Just see if your rocker arm rollers are sitting right, at full lift the roller should be in the middle of the valve stem. Make sure nothing is hitting or binding too. The length doesnt have to be as exact for you since yours are adjustable. If it looks like they are sitting right try running them a bit tighter maybe closer to two 1/4 turns past zero lash. If they aren't sitting right measure with the above tool. Frank
