I have a question for the guys who installed a B&M "Pro Stick" shifter into the stock GN console. This is what I decided to get for my GN and I also got the "console overlay" kit (see picture below) from Mark at TR Custom Parts 84-87 Turbo Regals, Olds G-Body Cars, S-10 Blazers/Pickups. My question is this: Is there a way to properly install the shifter in the console so it will fit
correctly (position front to back, side to side and also correct height) with the
console kit? I'm asking this because I just got the shifter and would like to know if there's a procedure to have everything to align and look right ?
Also, when installing the console overlay kit, what should I do with the unused holes left by the removal of the stock shifter position indicator? ..Just stick the overlay on top of it (I doubt that's the right way to do it though
...), or maybe put a thin piece of sheet metal to reinforce the area where the unused holes were and then install the overlay?.. What have you guys done?
I even asked Mark about this and he suggested that I post my questions here...
thanks,
Claude.
