Question about changing oil filter

Is it me or does everyone have to remove the plug on the oil sending unit to drop the oil filter ? I know I have to have the wheels cut all the way to the right, but I cant get the filter out without removing the plug on the oil sending unit. I am using the shorter NAPA oil filter.

Never had to unplug anything, I use the Napa filter as well. Just unscrew it and bring it up (i do it from the top) pushing the radiator heater hose out of the way slightly ....

ditto - just the hose a little - wheels aren't in the way either.

Yeah, stupid me. Didn't realize the lower radiator hose was that flexible. I changed it today, moved the hose over to the right and removed the filter from up top.

I use an awl to poke a drainage hole in the lowest spot on the filter....85% of the oil will drain that way.
