On 22 July 2006 my Father passed away in his sleep at age 59. He served his country in the US Navy and went on to serve the community as a Police Officer for over 20 years. My Father was and still is my inspiration and the reason I have been able to serve as I have. I have tried my best to be someone he could be proud of and make at least some of the contributions to society that he has. I will never be able to fill his shoes or be as good as a man as he was. I love you and miss you Dad.

My prayers go out to you, and your family. Your dad sounds like a very good man. God Bless, Brian

I am very sorry to hear about your loss.
Your father sounds like a great man.
You will not be alone in grieving his passing.
I will pray for your family and all the people that your father touched in his life.

I lost my mother a couple years ago and my advice to you
is to try and get all your feelings out with in reason if there is such a thing.
For me talking to people that my mother helped in her life really helped.
Try to get to the point where when you think about your father you are celebrating his memory rather than mourning.

God Bless

My deepest condolences.. As mentioned don't dwell on mourning but celebrate his life as he was obviously a great role model..

I for one say thanks for his service!

God Bless!!

Warren..

Death is never a easy subject to talk about. Your brothern here on the site are here for you. I have never met you Dad but you can tell he was a great man. As Tim McGraw song" Live like you dying". We are here for you. Celebrate being a part of your Dad's life and be the thankful that you shared love, life, and friendship your Dad. I still have my Dad and I would be a basket case if something happened to him. I will pray for your family and wish for strength and healing.

As one may say,"never give up son,and keep going forward, and learn from the things behind you", thats the the words of my father he once told me. i can somewhat relate to what your going through, but god knows the pain of you and your family are really experiencing. I lost my dad when i was 23 yrs old,and a mother when i was 15. Just remember, that your dad was always there for you, protecting you, raising you,and teaching you the facts of life. You should always be proud and appreaciative that you had a great man part of you and your family. Be strong in the future of your life and your family, but "don't hold back tears and emotions, becuase that is the flesh of love"....Once again, may god speed your father, and yourself,as well as your family through this sad/tough moments yall are all experiencing....may god be with yall..my deepest condolences and sympathy are with you and your family...Regards, Jusa6

My family and I would like to thank everyone for their gracious comments and their thoughts and prayers. My Father would be happy so many in the community cared. We would talk about my little black car time and again. He thought I was out of my mind wanting it to go so fast. The service was very nice. We had the US Navy Honor Guard and there were several Police Officers there from his past and present departments. They gave him a small send off as well. My Dads parents are still alive, 80 & 85 years old. Its been quite hard on them having to bury their son. We all feel the hug hole that now exists and have to try to find a way to fill it. I used to hang out with him when I was younger when he was on duty working the midnight shifts. Those are some really good memories. Thankfully I got to come up on leave and spend some time with him 3 weeks ago. If I had know this was pending, I would have taken more pictures of him and spent every minute I had with him.
Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers and words of comfort.
