Just went to buy race fuel for a Joe L. 110 chip. They tell me no-one makes anything higher than 103 oct. unleaded. Should I have bought the leaded?

You don't want to use leaded if you are running a catalytic converter. It will ruin it and they are not as cheap as o2 sensors. 100 unleaded is about the highest you see.

I wouldn't. Just get a pipe to replace the cat and then you can run 21lbs of boost, 116 octane race fuel and that 110 chip. If the cat is old and you don't have emissions, just hollow it out.

That chip has 26 degrees timing...it needs octane...you're taking a chance trying to run with 100-103 unleaded...get a heated O2 sensor and run 110 leaded or better...

We carry PRO FUEL. It is unleaded and it comes in 104, 110,112 and 114 octane. Available in ONT.

Hmm, ontario, thats close to me

Where in ontario can i get this stuff. Might be worth the drive over.

NO ONE makes ANY HIGHER than 105 Octane Unleaded!!

Unless its something in a can that "SUPPOSEDLY" mixes to create higher Octane, but thats questionable at best!

It is made in Missisauga Ont. The company is Ontario Competition Fuels and also known as Pro Racing Fuel. It is 104,110,112,114 Oct. I am not sure where the closest dealer to you is.
I have been running it in my GN since '97 which is when I started moding and racing . I am an authorized dealer. Ken Seggie (National Performance) used to be a dealer, not sure if he still is.

You should make sure the octane reported is the R+M/2 method of figuring octane. If Pro just uses the Research method the octane will "appear" to be higher. And this I suspect.

Leaded what??

Put an alky kit on it, run no led premium pump gas and use the savings to pay for the kit.. 22# boost, race timing chip and bald tires, no O2 replacements every couple weeks....All available courtesy of the friendly alky kit!:D :D

Yes it is r&m/2. I run 22-23 psi with the 112. I have a te44, 3"dp,blue tops, RA 110 chip etc., and run consistent low 12's, with12.07 @112 being my pb.

Torco's been teasing us with the announcement of their new 108 and 110 octane unleaded for a few months now.

I've used Philip's B42 105 unleaded with good success, but it's not enough octane for a full race chip that requires 110 oct.

First Torco announced it would be available in Summer '02....now the web page says Fall '02.

I have a SMC alcy kit on my car, but honestly at the track it is much easier to tune if you have good race fuel rather than messing with the alcy kit. I use the alcy on the street, but I haven't foune the "magic" combo at the track with alcy.
