Race Fuel

For those out there running race fuel what octane are you running & are you running it straight or premixed.

Unleaded I ran 100 octane, sometimes mixed. Leaded ran C16 and would mix with pump gas when I was done racing.

No. Just if I had C16 left in it I would add 91 octane for street use.

What are you trying to accomplish? You may want to post some details about your car and what you'll be doing. C16 or any leaded fuels will kill your O2 sensors.

Red C5 is absolutely correct.

Make sure you have a heated 02 or plan on replacing it when you run leaded fuel. When I want to race gas I drive the car until it's almost empty, then I drain the rest of the fuel from the rail with a hose by touching the fuel pump test connector (gray wire just behind/below the alternator) to the terminal on the back of the alternator where the battery feed cable attaches. Check out this Octane mixing chart and you will see why I try and get as much of the pump gas out as I can.

Yes C16 with a light mist of Alky W/10% Nitro in Alky.

that sounds like the perfect application for MeOH. or am i missing something

how many 55gal drums of VP C16 will you need to use before you could have purchased MeOH injection set-up? i'm pretty sure c16 use is frowned upon for street use in californi-stan; not that anyone here is calling you in to the enviro-fascists. have fun!

When I went to Fontana,last October IIRC,,, it seems most guys were running Q16.

I have ran 25 Psi with the timing at 23/21 like Eric set the chip. No race gas just a single nozzle and 93oct. The only time I put race fuel in is during testing with higher boost and timing. Low boost for me is 22 psi.
