random major knock

i was playing on the high way wide open blasting it just for fun i had 0 knock and wide open boost fuel pressur was good everything was normal. i hit a small bump in the road then all of a sudden i got 19 deg or retard for a split second then it went back to zero i stoped at next gas station let it idel for 10 mins shut car of let it cool down had a coffee and a smoke with the boys about 45 mins later fired up my car againg and no probly 0 knock again but i havent went on the highway since could that just have been false knock cuz the bump in the road was a train track

sounds like false knock since you say you saw it when you hit the bump......19 degrees is pretty violent I would suspet it to be false since you were at zero all the time previously

im not to worried about it cuz it has comme back since i gas up at that gas station im gonna swap the plugs for good messure and i just instaled thermo tech turbo cover heat shield material on the hot side put 2 layers on for good measure hopefully its make spool up even quicker

Mine did that once. Turned out to be a broken exhaust hangar.

Speaking of exhaust causing that i think your right my poorly design 3 inch exhaust hits my rear upper control arms that was probly the cause and theres pretty much noting i can do either replace hole exhaust or put tubular arms top and hope it clears i can live with it for now

That's probably it. Which exhaust system do you have?

muffler tech 3 inch mandrel stainless duel exhaust with magnaflow mufflers sounds amazing so this is only realy i can live with it its not hurting my car in any way other then high speed bumps dosnt hurt my launch or et time so for now i dont car

You should have somebody hit the exhaust with a rubber hammer while the car is running and see if it shows any knock retard on your scanmaster. This will verify this is the problem (or not).

you can hear the exhaust baging when that happens ei the knock and timming retard all that jazz only when i hit a bump any other situation ei straight line smooth road i can hold 17 psi all day long with my tune 0 knock

pulled ds header of tig a nice new gusset were the car has happends before nice and solid now seems to not have any leaks there not just have exhaust hitting upper control arms i was gonna replace the upper arms any way so im got get umi tubbular upper arms cuz hopefully that will help clearance issue
