I have a rear wheel stud that is stripped on my 83 T-Type. In the service manual it says to use J 6627 to press the stud from it's seat. Anyone know what a J 6627 is, or maybe another way of doing this....thanks!

You might be able to get away with using an air hammer. Most people have to remove the axle to avoid damaging the C-clip at the carrier (like me). Then just pound it out against a 2x4 on the work bench. Another idea is to cut the back side off, then wiggle it out from the front with some locking pliers or maybe a pipe wrench.

You can knock it right out with a hammer. No need to pull the axle. You can wedge something between the axle flange and backing plate, like a hammer handle, to avoid any possible damage hammering the bad stud out. Then, pull the new stud in by tightening a lug nut on it, preferable with an impact gun, but will work by hand.
