Looking for recommendations for converter for: '87 turbobrick, 24K miles, RaceJace plate, 160 stat, Limit TA-49 w/.63 Garrett exhaust housing, XP pump, hotwired, THDP, hollow cat, Hooker Cat-back & Aero-chamber muffs, '60's injectors, TurboTweak chip, Razor's alky set-up, TinMan cold-air, currently runs 12.7 @ 107+ on true street tires. Going to have tranny freshened up. Some street activity, some freeway activity, like low-end grunt. Virtually no track other than maybe setting up. Thanks for stopping by.
Planning on PTC converter,
2800 stall?
lock-up/non-lock-up?
10" or 9.5"?

10inch Lockup if your goal is no faster than low elevens

I have heard pros & cons on lock-up versus non-lock-up, why do you feel that a lock-up would be best. I have no real goal, I would like to go quicker, but want to stop somewhat prior to wishing that I had stopped the last mod before. In other words, I would rather under cam than over cam.

That turbo works good with a 10 inch lock up converter.I suggest using a PTC 10" piece with lock up .With the turbo and injector you have @ 20 plus psi you can put the car easily in the mid 11,s and still get excellent gas mileage and street driving.I use them on a regular basis for many of my customers.I stock and sell them for 449.00 .

I have a ATI 9" non lock up converter that would work fine and you can "grow" into it as well.
I actually had a stock turbo on for a while and it pulled like mad on the bottom end.
Same converter i used up to a 76gtq.

Our 2800 10" L/U will work. No need to go non lock or anything smaller than 10" for your goals.
