Hello All,

I would appreciate it if someone could share what they feel the minimum thicknesses for the "major" and "minor" thrust areas of a cylinder wall should be for a......say.......1300+HP turbo/centrifugal supercharged engine???

Thanks in advance for all shared advise and wisdom.......:)

back to the top.......

Hi All,

ANYONE have any knid of an answer for this question???

Thanks again.......

I was waiting to see if you'd get a response from someone who's more of a professional.. :) The Power Source book recommends a minimum of .180-.200 on the thrust side of the bore for hard use (this is a S2 block recommendation, but should translate to others somewhat).

HTH,

Any engine builders with ANY PERSONAL reliable responces for this question I posted earlier??

TIA.....

.180 min on the thrust side is what the power source manuals says and thats what Duttweiler says. I would say if you building a 10 second or slower you could get away with less.
