Got pump and using stock adjustable regulator, and have no issues. I just dont see anyone talking about using them, wonder why?

Not promoting Red at all and certainly not bashing Walbro. Put a Walbro 340 in my car in 2001 purchased from Racetronics with a hot wire kit. Got a great deal. The pump was in the car from then til 2008 when it died in the staging lanes for some T&T a week before BG. The plug in wire in the tank burned up. Can't believe the fuel didn't ignite. Needed a pump quick so I bought an XP since he is 30 mins from my house.
Say that to say this; the Walbro 340 served me well and I still have it. It still works and pumps fuel but I was skeptical to put it back in the car since I did not know why the wire cooked.

That is why Racetronix has been including a totally new upgraded Teflon in-tank harness with our G7X kits for many years now instead of reselling the Walbro in-line adapter which relies on 22+ year old factory wiring. Racetronix came out with the new bulkhead wiring assembly b/c they are starting to fail in larger numbers and people want to run pumps which demand more current as well. Chances are there is nothing wrong with your pump. It's easy enough to check it out.

Red wasn't advertising, no one was. Someone wanted to know where to get an XP pump, and the phone number for the source was deleted. That is like asking where to get a lug nut and someone posting Summit and their phone number along with the part number. No one would care about that. I understand supporting the vendors that support this board to keep it going, but nobody said not to buy from any of them, just where to get a certain pump one person sells. Nothing was taken away from a supporting vendor. This site should be about free information, not so much about advertising, the advertising is just an added bonus.

Again, the question was answered. What you are missing is the other few threads that recently popped up about this... Unless you are sitting where I am and have to deal with this stuff everyday please don't judge me... Read the question one more time. It doesn't say how can I contact Red:rolleyes:

Let me guess you are from Ohio and a friend of Reds and you got chapped. I understand that... He obviously supplies other vendors here. My guess is your continuing complaining is hurting the sales for them too:eek: Please think about it as a whole picture...

As far as the rest of the thread, it was information...

I am done complaining after this. It was the way it turned into a XP pump bashing thread, rather than a how to get one, or just say, a Walbro is just as good, and there are vendors on this board that will be happy to sell you one. You fueled the fire first. If the question was just answered as yes, you can still get XP pumps, the next question would have been where. I understand both sides, and you have to walk a fine line to keep everybody, but bashing the XP pump probably hurt the vendors that sell them too, as I think some of the vendors on this board do sell them.

Thank you for restating the same thing again...

I appreciate your input and I am glad you addressed the issue. How can I check to see if the pump is still good. If I put 12v to it, it pumps but how do I know it still flows as much as originally advertised. For now it is my back up pump but I would like to ensure it is still capable if I need it?

You will have to set it up on the bench with a reg, power supply, ammeter, etc.
Alternatively you could send it to us for testing.

Yeah trhats the one I had ...I was so pissed. Than k god teh car died 2 blocks from the house. Wires were so over temped the copper was showing and the conectors were burnt through the:mad:    .
The "xp" cost me..LOL
One thing I did was to run 10 ga wires front to rear, even ran to the relays and power source. This was ATR's not Red A's double pumper. My dealings with Red has been very fair in the past and his cars are real fast. I may use his DP again on my new build-up car? He like other big name Buick Builders usally don't post on these web sites? I'm not backing anyone just stating my past experiences. My .02$ only. Gene

You will also need a pressure gauge (and a valve to adjust pressure), calibrated bucket, and stopwatch.
Make sure you regulated power supply can deliver at least 15 amps

Hey Dave are you still building trannys? You built mine many moons ago! Shifted Great, sold the car, building another one. Gene Minneapolis, MN. PS. PM me as I'm looking for a Double Pumper. Thanks.

How do I go about sending it back to you for testing. I am sure I have the original receipt for the 340 too. I would also need another pigtail as the original fried.

Yes I am, sent you a PM

There is nothing special about a "Reds Pump" I am so tired of that BS...

He is not a vendor here... Please support the vendors on this board...

Your very first post was bashing the pump....after the number was deleted? I agree with the others, red wasn't advertising anything. I'm not leaning against or for either way, walboro, xp, weldon....its kind of like ford, chevy, buick. I've got a xp now and have put down close to 600 hp to the wheels on a 109 block with iron heads.....I'm now switching to an external magnafuel pump....Everyone picks thier own poison. So which is it.....you think reds pumps are crap, but paying vendors that sell that exact pump is ok to advertise as long as no one gives reds # out directly ??? You didn't bash the paying vendor that sells the pump, or delete his information....do you have a grudge against the pump or red, and if its personal why spout off on a thread about "can you still get this item" ? just wondering ?

I will explaining myself again for the hard heads... I THINK THE PUMP IS NO MORE THAN A REGULAR GM PUMP WITH A LITTLE TINKERING DONE TO IT AND SOME ENGRAVING... I have or have had recently over 20 TR's. NONE OF THEM HAVE AN XP PUMP! Hocus Pocus! Fiddling with a part like a F/P and changing the factory specs is not a bright idea IMO...

With that said that is MY PERSONAL OPINION! There are a lot of products that vendors sale that I may not like... I can voice my opinion on any product I like just as any other member on this board can...

I did not say Red was advertising on this board... If so find it and quote it:rolleyes: I removed the number YES SIR! I remove 2-3 posts or spam ads a day. You want to bitch about them too? Did you read my posts where this SAME issue has come up recently and this was not the first time???

I don't know Red, never meet Red... I have met some of the ***swingers though:rolleyes:

If I had a grudge against either, neither would be spoken about here:wink:

The thread didn't say "hey, what do you think about this" You think this is about what you think ?? The only hard head here is you ?? your not getting it !!! This isn't about what you think ...no body cares if you think reds pumps are two bottle rockets tied together with a tampon..... Yes, you, me and anyone has the right to voice their opinion. But the issue wasn't with you voicing your opinion.....the others were talking about the information to anther tr owner being silenced or being led in a certain direction. I never said you accused red of advertising, just making the connection you deleted information like it was, in your words, "spam" instead of just information a fellow tr owner was giving another about the product in which he was asking....Hey, its no skin off my back...., and just because you don't own an xp pump doesn't make them evil or mean they don't work. Sometimes "tiinkering" with an existing product leads to better products. .....The fact is, they have been proven in tons of tr's. You can't disprove that, but everyone is entitled to thier opinion and your the one with the "magical keys" that can delete anything that you don't like. "hocus pocus" !

with that said.. Reds xp pumps are great and SUPPORT THE VENDORS !!
I'm done with this.
