I just got this stuff and read that it has little lubrication in it.

Does anybody run distilled water and water wetter with a cheap lube?

I already know about RMI25 but is there anything else out there for lubrcation purposes with water wetter?

Thanks,
Bo

I dndn't care for redline water wetter

it left a slime type substance on top of the water when you pull the rad cap off. I know royal purple makes a similar product, but i don't really know if it works.

You should use some type of lubricant - Your water pump will thank you.

I use watter wetter, distilled water, and 1/2 gal of antifreeze, simply for it's lubrication and non-corrosive properties.

Guess you need to be aware that WaterWetter does NOT have non-corrosive properties and is only a surficant. It will be damaging to your cooling system if left in for a long period of time.

This is NOT an opinion but based upon my personal experience. For over 10 years I have used RMI-25 and many others have also. Never have seen or heard a negative report about it, only very positive results.

One thing no other radiator additive does that RMI-25 will do, is continiously clean the cooling system. It also contains lubricants, inhibitors and other necessary additives to properly maintain your cooling system.

Why would you want to use 2 or 3 other more expensive, less effective additives instead of RMI?:)

Maybe you misunderstood, the reason I add antifreeze is to lubricate the pump and slow corrosion.

I will eventually go to RMI, but watter wetter is much cheaper, more readily available - and does a commendable job.

Some RMI sites actually recommend using Water Wetter in
addition to RMI25 for "extreme conditions".

And while we're discussing t.. Where does all the crap that RMI25 cleans out of the system go? Just float through the system? Should you run RMI25 for a length of time to clean and then flush/refill?

I run pretty similar stuff (VP Cool Down) in my Vette... All I run is distilled water and two bottles of water wetter; no anti-freeze. The car is street driven occasionally (usually REAL late at night ;) ) and even with the high compression monster small block it rarely gets over 210 in traffic. But it DOES have a killer cooling system...
