rad support

300 is the going price on those good luck with the sale

Thank you for bringing me up to speed on the going rate for this rad support, these parts are all from my buddies estate. He got screwed then because he paid $700. I am not up to speed on regal parts, all reasonable offers will be looked at. I have alot to sell, if it works here great if not I will turn to ebay. Chris Skaling

Over priced

I found a receipt for $700 for this, so as it turns out that my buddy got bent over:mad:I searched here and I would have to agree that $300 is a fair price. Sorry I was way out of line on this one, so $300 it is. Chris

Would you take $350 shipped to a residential address in 29492?

Thanks, Bill

No problem Chris, I was able to find one that is semi local that I can pick up.

Thanks, Bill

?

Would you mind posting where these are sale for 300.00. Thanks in advance!

Chris

I did a google search and found past sales etc and found alot of people saying how hard it is to find these along with sale prices. Are you looking for one closer too you? Chris

x2 Most of the ones I have looked at are cut up for ram air or damaged. This one looks pretty clean. If I was going all out with my car I would buy it. These are not getting any easier to find. shipping this would help with the sale.

Shipping is around $50 for these, I've shipped 3 of them in the past year and sold them for $250 and a damaged one for $165. These came in quite a few 78-80 Grand Prix's (or Grand AM's) and some Buick Regals and Monte's. They were common with those cars, the problem is trying to find those cars... they are quite rare.

Why did these only come in a some GP's, Regals, & Montes?
Was it something special or simply supply & demand for the assembly line?
How do you quickly identify them as alum vs. steel?

Magnet

Use a magnet, if it sticks its metal, if it doesn't its aluminum. Chris

Have you actually pulled one off a Monte? I never saw one on a Monte. Grand Prixs seem to be the most plentiful. That's the 78-80 model. I got one from a Lemans once too, same vintage. How about an 80 Centure SW?

I’m sure there will be arguments otherwise; but:

Weight reduction to increase CAFE numbers. Grand Prix usually came with larger V8’s and needed the weight reduction more.

Probably some slop on the line and; used what they had; when they had it; if it would fit.

Magnet test; and most of the Aluminum that I’ve seen have a large “A” stamped from underneath on the top side.
