Just saw a dood in a newer Corvette take out a remote control. He hit a button and the thing opened a cutout.

He hit it again, and the car went silent. Is that something we can get? Is it something new?

I hope that's not a stupid/out of the loop question!

I thought one of the vendors was selling electric cutouts...

Bryan

Several people run an electric cut out coming off a dump pipe. As far as remote control I've never seen it on a TB. Sounds silly to me...what happens when you inevitably lose the remote?

I had electric cutouts on my 96 Impala SS. I had them on both the keychain and of coarse 2 switches inside in case of a remote failure :)

Probably just a window roll up module wired to an electric cutout. Kinda ricey if you ask me, but I guess it is a conversation piece.

This will control electric cutouts if you have them or you can buy electric dumps with remote in one package.

Holy crap. I never would have imagined there would be a propitiatory electric exhaust dump remote control!

ESP when a $50 alarm and a $20 window module would do it.

What's the world coming to when you can't imagine!!!

They've had these out for years now. you need to get off TB.com and view the rest of the web every now and then. LOL :D

As someone else mentioned.. Come to think of it,why would anyone need a remote control for this? His remote was the size of a flip-phone and had a small, silver, telescoping antenna like an AM radio. I heard him say there is also a button on the dash.

About 5 people were looking/admiring his newer GS vette at my workplace. White with red,top down 'vert.

I wasn't really interested, and stood back but remained within earshot. (if he had a stock, triple black '63 split-window,THEN I would have been interested! lol)

One of the 5 pointed at me and said: "He has a Grand National." Mr vette didn't acknowledge. My guess is he didn't even know what one is. If he said something stupid,I'd just tell him to be at Wednesday nites test-n-tune at the local track. He looked like someone who didn't know how to drive.

He said the cutouts gave him 50 hp. I wonder if they are worth it on our cars if you have a good exhaust. I'd need only 1 anyway!

The websites I look at don't require imagination! ;)

Actually that part does sound pretty pimp. Then again that's coming from a guy that's looking for a Motorola Brick to transplant my cell guts into. :D

My buddy has one on his turbo e85 converted pt cruiser it works good definate power increase according to the a$$-o-meter ....

I have cut-out on my gn, with an interior switch and I LOVE IT. I plan to hide the switch in the center console eventually. And I would never consider a remote. .. I would definitely lose it.. lol

^That's pretty wild. I designed that in my minds eye several years ago. The only difference was I was going to put a NC solenoid inline in case I need it to stay quiet at all times.

I would rather have the "Boost Activate Cut-out" the Sound Performance sells.......

I thought that was pretty sweet too but not $400 sweet. I bought one of these switches and plan on hooking it up to an electric cut out so it will work the same way but electronically instead of with vacuum.

some of the newer Vettes have factory installed cutouts that bypass all the baffles in the mufflers and make them into straight pipes... a similar setup was factory installed in Pontiacs in the 60's..

as far as remote controlled cutouts: it makes about as much sense as a remote controlled car stereo to me- is it really that hard to reach up and push a freakin button?

Here you go Earl.

This is for an old brick cellular phone with extra battery pack and case. It is a Motorola metro mobile. the battery says for motorola 6000/8000/9800 ultra classic. There is no damage except that the screw-in antenna is missing. no charger.

The C6 'Vette has an ECU controlled solenoid that opens the other two tailpipes to let the sound out. It will normally happen when you're above a certain RPM and speed. Normally they're closed. We produced a console switch a few years ago when the C6 first hit the streets that allowed the driver to switch the loud pipes on at any time. The remote control system is just another way to do it.

QTP has a big line of electric cutouts that you can use the normal wired switch or go with a remote. I have had good luck with their cutouts on my GN but never tried the remote, I think most of the stuff they make is reasonably priced too.
