hi guys i have begun the removing of my 85 engine and harness to transplant an 87 into it. i was wondering what the best way to remove the harness through the firewall ....the heater box seems to be troublesome and would TC from the 85 be the same as the 87 one...i will have alot more questions so forgive me ..im just really psyched!

engine harness should unplug on the drivers side from the underdash fusebox if i remember

I believe right under the wiper motor is where the harness is hooked to the fuse box...Not sure if the fuse box will need to be removed also or if you can just unhook the existing harness and plug the 87 harness to the same fuse box??

I disconnected the harness from the fusebox side but i am having trouble removing the harness through the passenger side because i have an 87 harness i am replacing the 85 with ...im getting there

There's a small bracket that holds the harness to the firewall (engine side) on the passenger side. I think it's (2) 10mm bolts? Not fun but doable.

Been there, done that. The fuse side plugs in without replacing the box, AFAIKR. For the other side, remove the fender. Seriously, it just takes a few minutes and gives you easy access to where the harness comes through the firewall.
