Yes, Thank you sir!
I'd had some compressor surging issues under wot, Got it squared away now 22psi on pump gas.

......Well for a moment it was.... It's back but this time for real I think I've got it figured out. I'm not adjusting the MBC properly, I kinda forgot it has coarse and fine adjustments. Back to 17 now and finally stable, I want to work my way back to to 20 now that I know how to adjust this right I'm just done for tonight so I stopped there. I'm just trying to get everything squared away before the dyno so I'm not kicking myself later.
Then since I was pumped I got the surging to stop for now, I decided to use up more of the bottle so I can get it refilled before the dyno. I sprayed a few blasts that were great then I noticed a faint change inside the car on the dash. The whole plaque on the dash on passenger side just lit up! I never knew this '84 did that I've owned this car a long time and it's never been on 'til now.
I've seen one of these lighted plaques for sale one time, thought they only came one something special.

wow.... something I actually already knew:eek::D Yeah they were only for the limited model regals, 1984-1987 and are pretty rare. Post more pics please...:D

Been ultra busy again, but have been able to spend some time tweaking the Regal up before the chassis dyno next Sat.
Fixed the turbo surging for good, I can hold a steady 20# now in 3rd.
The boost controller not being properly adjusted and plumbing route was the culprit. Originally I had the boost controller and fuel pressure regulator tee'd into the compressor cover barb, while my boost gauge, trans modulator and brake booster were all plumbed into the intake manifold. I found out the pressure differences between the two locations were a lot more than I had anticipated. Almost 30PSI at the compressor cover and 20PSI in the manifold. So after switching the boost controller and fuel pressure regulator feeds into the intake manifold, I have much more control over the boost, no surging and it's actually spooling a little quicker now. That's one problem I wanted gone before I head to the dyno.

Glad to hear you got another issue out of the way Adam. I'm waiting to see how much you wring out of it this time.

Mustang Dyno

FIRST!! I must apologize I have no video's on the dyno by me "I brought 8 batteries and they were all dead" BUT There were many people shooting video and I'm 100%sure they got the Regal too so still might have some luck on having multimedia as soon as I find out who took it and where it's posted.

Continuing: This is the first time my car has been on a Mustang Dynomometer so I didn't know what to expect and I just figured the car would make the previous numbers I made.
WRONG! the baseline was 255whp and 458wheel torque (actually down a little on HP but gained almost 60 ft-lbs compared to my first dyno runs)??? go figure
Then we sprayed the remaining pulls: Lookout!!!! the SOB jumped up too 365 whp and 601 ft-lbs to the wheels!
The car feels great and pulls hard clear up top even though the graphs show power falling off???
Now I don't know what do do...... Perhaps I should just sell it;)

Send me the heads and I can add some power as well as top end for you Adam. I honesly think the heads will get you to 400 or more and alow for the top to be a little better.

With what you've got now you can do some 11's at least. Congrats!

Lol Charlie the heads WILL make it your way I swear! Let me resupply my petty cash so I may ship them.
Thank you Charlie! Patience pays off. Who knows when I'll make it to the track.

Well get doing some side work Adam. I've got some to do today but have been sitting around tonight relaxing for a change.:biggrin:

nice!

LOL You guys would get a laugh out of the text he sent me right after he got off the dyno. "Happy! Happy!". LAMO Great job to be sure.

I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT..... Atleast the motor.....:biggrin::biggrin:

PM me Adam....

Nice! I know these motors make so much torque as SFI, but why does yours make so much? Combo of turbo and intake? 450 ft pounds is impressive.

OE camshaft and a lot of boost on that 58mm 69trim turbo.

You can see all of the torque converter slip and then the trans slipping on both dyno graphs: in the start before the torque peak you can see the converter take the hit of boost then slip then catch back up, then after the torque peaks out notice this is about the same time the graphs show HP peaking which isn't right because it's at the wrong rpm for the cam. The trans is slipping in high gear, which don't bother me it's already done more than I could ask for a stock th350c and torque converter.

GOOD LAWD MAN!!!!
365hp and 601lbs feet of torque?!?!?!!?!?!!!

That is a sweet spot to be in! If you can get that to plant it's a wrap!!
Good job!

So you see the engine making more horse than what its able to put down? Makes sense, kinda wierd how It would be making such huge torque numbers but the HP not being somewhat linear.

Nice to see how much Horse you can make with a carbed 3.8 and turbo. If I ever get sick of messing around with the stock turbo and intake its good to know theres a real good option out there, besides sticking my 455 olds back in.
