I just recently got a old SMC alky kit I just hooked it up today and nothing comes out so I’m guessing the pump is no good, what kind of pump should I get to replace it?

Sorry bout your luck. Fortunately my old SMC pump is still working, but I think I need to know as well on what would be a good replacement if and when mine goes bad. Too bad SMC is no longer in biz.

E7012 pump from chrysler minivans. This is the pump Steve used. Just had to do the same thing. U put that number in ebay there is a place down here, weston FL, that has them for $28 or $38, can't remember now. When you pull the old pump out, you'll find this number on the side. There is a thread on here that gives a fairly detailed description of replacing one. You also need a 1/8" npt die to put threads on the nipple.

Is this pump for the old round tanks or for the square (rectangular) tanks???

Just curious,

Thanks for posting,

Just curious has anyone ever tried using an in tank Walbro pump?

The first and only SMC kit I bought had a locked up pump. For ****s and giggles I swapped it out with an old school Walbro 340 I had that still worked.

I never did try using it on my car though....instead I ended up selling the kit on eBay for over double what I paid for it. I never did hear any complaints from the buyer. But I never checked back with him either.

I've been using the SMC alky kit with the rectangular bottle for the past 2summers now... As soon as I hooked it up the stock pump was bad... I replaced it with a stock fuel pump off an 86' GN which got me through that summer and all of last summer as well... Not suggesting that is the best idea but has worked for me seeing I ran 23lbs of boost all last summer with no knock... I just tore down the motor for a wiped cam and the head gaskets looked good!!! I always added a few squirts of WD-40 everytime I filled the tank with denatured alcohol..

Try hooking it up backwards using some jumper wires directly to the battery. Sometimes those motors lock up and it takes a little kickstart in reverse to get working again.

Hope it helps....
