Does the wiper motor have to be removed to accomplish this? Or is there enough room to remove it and slide it out thru the bottom?

If the wiper motor does have to be removed, I only saw 2 bolts then the main nut on the motor shaft. Are there any other nuts or bolts I am missing?

Thanx in advance.

There are 3 nuts holding the whole assembly in one is on a slotted ear I think and only has to be loosened for removal.

However, the manual, while generic to all carlines does state there is on car service for the washer pump.

Says to remove washer retaining clip supposedly you stick a screwdriver in and rotate it to pop the clip and can remove the washer that way.

Make sure the new pump is fully seated and the retaining clip holds it.

I am not sure if there is enough room to do this on car for the G bodies or not.

Obviously test the old pump with voltage etc. and make sure it was actually the problem and not some contacts or the cover assembly/wiring prior to reinstalling the whole thing.

Can't remember where I found this? Don't know if it'll help or not. All credit/discredit to the OP:

If you decide to replace the motor, here is what it takes:

1) Mark the position of the arm to motor, then loosen the two 10mm nuts attaching the wiper arms to the motor. Slide the arm off of the ball on the motor.

2) Disconnect and plug or reposition the washer rubber lines so they don't leak all over.

3) Remove the two top bolts from the motor then loosen the bottom bolt. What you will need for this operation is a socket wrench with an extension and 10mm socket. Note: To remove the wiper motor you only have to remove the top 2 mounting bolts and loosen, but not remove, the bottom mounting bolt. The wiper motor mounting ears are cut so that they will slide off the bottom bushing (the bushing stays on the bottom bolt).

4) Disconnect the two electrical connecters and remove pump. It is easiest to remove the connecter near the fender last, as you start moving the wiper motor out of the hole in the cowl. If you need to change out the washer pump, perform step 5.

5) Remove clip then change out pump motor while it is on the bench. By depressing the pointy tab on the clip, it usually pops right out (take care not to break the plastic tab securing the pump on the motor). With the 90 degree clip removed, the pump pulls straight out.

6) Reverse steps to install. Good luck
