I work at a trans shop and we use precision converters in everything, so I had my boss call them today and ask about restalling a D5. He told them it's a GN and all that mess and they said it's only a 2K rpm stall from the factory and could only be made to go about 2200. I know that's BS, the guy asked about horsepower and was told 300-350. He then proceeded to say that at that power level
it needs to be an aftermarket converter with anti ballon plates on it. It's a mild street car! Who can I send this thing to that can get me about 2800 or so? I realize that a good 9" converter is the way to go, but I just need a little help getting the TE44 to spool going through the original exhaust. Down the road I will get a real converter, when I get a turbo that needs one. Thanks.
