Restoration of my TSO car

After the year we had last year and accomplishing all that we wanted to it was decide to take this year off and redue the car. There will be some significant changes in effort to capture our next goal and my plan was to create this post and document the progress as we move along. Miguel who owns pats autocare is handling all of the bodywork/paint he did the car 9 years ago when it was painted that it for know stay tuned....

While the work on reinforcing the frame is still going on, Work has begun on the underneath of the car removing what wont be necessary getting it all smoothed and straightened out here are the before/during pics.

Your roll cage is removable? I always thought @ that level it had to be welded to the chassis. Keep the pics coming...it's always nice to see cars with the go to back up the show counterpart.

My roll cage was welded to the frame, we cut it out so we could do the frame off and install the new safer up to date cage. Here are some new pics of the frame starting to get reinforced.

reinforced fram is a very wise move Tony. I am sure the car will look & perform top notch when it makes it's new maiden voyage.
 
Hey Tony, longtime no talk :) may I ask what are you going to do about the accessibility of the body mounts since you closed up the C channel??

Hey What's up

The new body mounts are made of delrin, so it will just be a bolt up from the bottom of the frame thru the delrin bushing into the body. The body is going to part of the frame/cage all tied together.

That is a HUGE undertaking........Good Luck!!

I gotta say that car was as close to perfect as I have ever seen one, true attention to detail!!!

I know where mine is coming when it comes time for a re-paint!!!! :cool:
