I had my transmission rebuilt last year and my mechanic said my speed sensor buffer needed replacement, but he couldn't get one in, so he bypassed it with a pressure switch I believe.

I want to have cruise control and I've been having a ton of problems with my torque convertor locking, or staying locked, and just want to put in the buffer. He said it's a specific one for Grand Nationals only.

Not sure if he's right or not. I have an 87 Grand National. Is this the right one to order?

I think I can post that link here

The Speed sensor....Thats in the back of the speedo head.
Does your SM show MPH?
If so then the Speed sensor is good
If you are missing the 2 spsi switches that are in the BRF valve body for 3 and 4th gear then the ecm will not know the car is in said gear.
