Hey everyone, I have heard great things about the rjc boost controller and was just wondering if it would be beneficial on a close to stock car running maybe 13-16 psi?

You might get a little faster spool up but I doubt it is significant. The main reason to run one is to raise boost pressure higher than you have indicated. I use an electric setup because I like shiny things, but keep an RJC in my "spare" parts box for when the shiny things inevitably give me grief ;)

...and if you put it in an easily accessible spot it will be easier to adjust boost especially when your motor is still hot.

Ok sorry, newb question: can i use the controller to adjust boost without having and adjustable wastegate?

Yes you can, but eventually you will run out of control. If you keep your target where you indicated you will likely be fine.

Ok great i dont plan on ever going over 16 psi. Thanks a lot

I lasted 4 years on stock boost. Started turning up the wick 1-1/2 yrs ago and been addicted ever since :D. Good luck.

Another premise behind the boost controller is that with the stock wastegate it is actually opening gradually all the way up to max boost. RJCs deprives the wastegate of any signal to open until you are at your set max boost. Result is no boost bled off, meaning quicker spool and boost starts coming on right away.
You will eliminate the whole factory Y connector but keep it plugged into factory solenoid it just does do anything. Unplugging and removing trips ses light.

I have one of these sitting on the shelf I will sell for 1/2 of new if interested.

Ok great, can I let you know on that? This was mainly a thread for future reference, I have to get rid of the knock i'm getting at stock boost first lol, then I will play with it
