Anyone else have unusually large amounts of vapors emitting from your rocker cover breathers? The vapor kind of smells like exhaust in a way, is clear in color, and changes velocity with the rpm of the motor. My motor has always had some vapor from these breathers, but after installing the RJC PP, it seems as though it has increased in intensity??? Or maybe it's always been this much and I never noticed it before?????

I had those vapors that were detectible in the cockpit when I had the vent or AC on. I was using one of those stupid brass PCV check valve things. When I ditched it and put back the original PCV the smell went away.

Anybody want to buy a brass PCV check valve?

I just removed my PVC checkvalve today and guess what, the vapors are gone!:) Anyone else want a checkvalve?

I have had no problems with odd vapors on both my TRs with the brass checkvalve? I mean, the breathers drip some oil vapor every now and then, but nothing major???? I just wipe them off every now and then.

Joe.. what kind of valve were you using? Was this the one that goes IN LINE with, or IN PLACE OF the original PCV valve?

Thanks!

Wierd... I have the Pete Tomka one and I don't have this problem. Was your valve clogged?

No, not clogged. It just took too much vacume to operate the thing to effectively vacume the crankcase with the cam I'm using.

My 218-218 cam only makes about 11 inches of vacume at idle, and it took me nearly all the suction I could muster up with my mouth to make the thing open for vacume. I took it apart and cleaned it with no luck.

Mine was IN PLACE OF.

If I can find it, I think I'll list it on Ebay.
