Some comments concerning the roll bar install. Not meant to be critical, only observations.[Could be a problem at the track, with the tech insp.!!]
1. The rear braces appear to be too far below the top of the main hoop. Rules say 5". The severe bends in the bars greatly diminish the strength of the structure.
2.The seat cross brace appears too low. The bar cannot be more than 4" below the drivers shoulders, nor above them.
3. Bar must be as wide as the drivers shoulders, or within 1" of the driver's door. Appears the main hoop is well behind the seat back. Is the bar welded to the frame?? It appears too far in to be so.
4. The door bar is not at the midpoint between the shoulder and elbow. The lower end is obviously not on the frame. On a pad on the floor pan??
5. The hoop has to be padded wherever the helmet can make contact.
If the bar is "decorative", and not meant to be legal for racing, then the above observations are obviously not valid....
I make these comments in hopes others don't get into the usual "contest" w/ the "legal body" at the track....BTDT, and it's NOT fun!!![]()
