What is a good recommended drop in RPM on wot shift with a 10" PTC converter. I want to make sure I'm not "too tight" or "too lose". Thanks.

With the combo listed and a 2800 10" look for 600-800 drop. What's the cam size and what rpm does it shift? The converter could be right but if your shift rpm is too low, it will seem like the converter is loose.

My rpms are dropping between 325 and 425. I adjusted my TV cable and get more rpm before it shifts but I would like to see about 300 or so more. I really don't like the idea of messing with the governor so I might first try a simple adjustable shift light and manually shift to see how what works out.
It's a stock cam and the 1-2 shift is about 4600ish, 2-3 is 4900.

Hmm..so I am not the only one with a 300 RPM drop....
Maybe it's normal on some type Converters!!!

Im suprised your getting any drop shifting at those rpms. Shifting at 5200 would net you more rpm drop. I shift at 5900 and it drops to 5050 at 28.5 psi with my 9.5"

If the car shifts at 5200 you will be about right where you need to be. It would definately pick up et and mph with the correct shift points.

Stretching the 2-3 change out is easiest by manually shifting. I always shifted 2-3 manually.

If the mph doesn't improve with the 2-3 at 5200 your valvesprings may be another issue.

My valve springs are new. I know it's shifting a little early and that's costing me. I don't know if I'll get a chance to try manual shifting at the track this year, only a couple of track days left.

What keeps you from making further adjustment (like shortening another notch) to TCCable??
