Just picked up the 1985 GN the other day and I love it. The only thing though is the RPM's don't move. The first bar is continuously lit, but there is never more than one bar, and never less (except when the car is off, lol). I remember having a similar problem on my 1987 GN, and it was solved by unplugging a jumper wire that was plugged in. Well, any ideas?

My car was exactly the same when I bought it. It turned out to be the tach lead (probably the same thing you mentioned on the 87) was clipped onto the coilpack bracket underneath, grounding it. If I remember right, it's green and under the coilpack and shouldn't be connected to anything unless you have an aftermarket tach.

Finally got a chance to check it out today. Yup, that was it. Works great now. Thanks. :)

My tach works, just waaay off

My tach is working, and lights up fine, but at idle, four or five bars are lit,and it fills all the way up at any touch of the throttle. Boost does the same. Any ideas on that?
