Running without ESC?

You can do it, just be very conservative with the boost pressure.

Get a MSD BTM, around $250 new. Set it to 1.5degrees and run 91 or 93. Ive done this for the last 3 months and its ran great. Of course I have no way to test for detination but I run the stock 7-8 PSI and I havnt blown out a head gasket yet so I think its sucessful.

Yes it's possible, I'm not running any kind of ESC on my blowthru. I run a 4 pin HEI module to retard Ignition timing.

I think Fred did it as well but he was running a 6BTM as well as a timing control. He didn't do to bad. You can get a knock sensor system from MSD if you want to and it will keep you somewhat out of trouble if you're fast off the throttle.

Why? The info is there if anyone needs to know now. All you have to do is a search on the board to find what you need and someone may need the info.
