need a wheel cylinder mine popped i bought the s10 ones along time ago and just installed it its no good wondering if anyone could tell me what year s10 and what brakes it is so i can just go local to get it. thanks

87 S10 2 W/D Wagner #F110261 7/8 bore size, two sets of 87 Buick rear brakes this is way you get 4 primary shoes .get the spring kit will you are standing at the counter .I had to open the drums up , did not need to go to max.

I recently upgraded to the S10 wheel cylinders, the large brake shoes from Kirbans, and the stainless brake hose kit from Kirbans. One lesson learned is to be patient with bleeding the air. It took a pretty long time for us to bleed the whole system. Good luck.

Sure big cylinders and 2 secondary shoes will hold more boost on the line but it has been my experince that a minor panic stop will lock up back wheels with this system.

What cause them to lock up? Is it the "S10 wheel cylinders" or the "bigger brake shoes"?

I went S10 with stock brake shoes. I noticed a significant increase in boost I could hold at the line, but the rear brakes will NOT lock-up under dry weather conditions. If its really wet out, they might. I haven't had to test them in the wet, but thankfully in the dry, they did not lock.

S10 cylinders as well. Stock shoes and no issues with panic stops

Can anything be done on these cars without someone warning of impending doom? I have these and never had a problem. Stops normally like a normal car. However I can hold alot of boost now; I've seen up to 15psi in my driveway.

LOCKED WHEELS AND BLEEDING PAIN ...I WISH I HAD NEVER PUT THEM IN, EVEN WORSE WAS DEALING WITH GETTING THOSE HORRIBLE BACK CLIPS OUT TO SWAP THESE IN.
I THINK THE HYDRO BOOST SET UP IS GOOD ENOUGH...i turned my caps off now..lol

i have no issues with double shoes and s10 cylinders locking up to much at speed, i have panic stopped many times to avoid brainless drivers, they brake better but no down sides for me, and of course hold more boost so all is good

Yeah the guy that came up with the back clips deserves a beating.

I would like to put six pinch claps on the nut sack of the idot who came up with those wonderful torture devices!!!!!

Guys - getting the clip back on is really easy with a bit of improvisation. All you need is a four inch c-clamp and a hole saw the same size as the clip. Put the hole saw on the clip (it's thin enough to fit in the recessed area of the brake backing plate), and put the c clamp on the brake cylinder and the hole saw and turn the c-clamp in until the clip in locked in place. Takes literally thirty seconds or so. Although it did take me about an hour of cussing/frustration to come up with this method.

And for those of you that saying the back brakes won't lock up when you are in a panic situation - that's what I said too, until it happened to me.

The brake clips are easy to put on, it's the pinch clamps that are a bitch when they are not easy to get at the tangs, even if you own the special flexable clamp pliers like I do.
