What is a safe boost level for my set up?? TT chip is set for 15psi max.

Well, hard to say.
"Safe" can be defined as; Any level you do not get any KR at.
15 PSI in the chip really means you have enough fuel for about 15 PSI, but if you get KR at 10 PSI, than 10 PSI is the "safe level".

So where is a good place to start? I have good boost and knock guages, but no scantool. Can I rely on the knock gauge to let me know when to dial it back? Where was the stock level set??

Stock level was around 9 PSI or so.
You can use the Caspers knock gage to get you close, but really need a scantool (As you already know :cool: )

Note;
The knock gage activation is not necesarily an indication of KR, but ........I found it to be fairly accurate and use that for daily drive monitoring. :cool:
It activates when a signal is send ot the ECM, than the ECM makes the decision to pull timing.
When the ECM pulls timing, it is referred to as "Knock Retard" (retards the timing).
Caspers gage activation indication is referred to as "Knock Count" and the severity of it results in KR.
Anyway, a great yard stick ..........

So, If I was to get a scantool... which one would be the best choice for me. Powerlogger or scanmaster 2.1?? I plan to drive/show this car mainly. I DO want to be able to tune accurately and maybe...and I mean MAYBE...take it to the track once or twice. NOT very often. Mostly stoplight to stoplight, if I were to race it at all. If I got the powerlogger, would I have to get a scanmaster also so I didn't have to use a laptop all the time? Is it really worth it for me? Or should I just get the scanmaster? Can the TT chip be user adjusted without a laptop?

I am not cutting you any slack at all. The only scan tool which works is a Powerlogger. Without the Powerlogger you are flying blind and pissing up a rope and you are probably emptying out your wallet. Sit yourself down and take a look around.(ie.research- or ask). Catch you later-been there one it. Brad
