safe knock numbers???

ok so i got the boost down to 16 lbs right now...... i'm still getting 4.1 degrees of knock. does this mean i should change my chip? should i richen the maf translator???? i don't have a clue where to start.
 
me personally, i would get a more modern chip like from turbotweak because it will have less timing in it and better idle characteristics. plus they r adjustable as far as first gear fueling, 1-2 timing, WOT fueling 1-4, and 3-4 timing. all of that is adjustable! or u could go with an extender chip from full throttle if u have a modern MAF and want to take advantage of that!

i think the Red's chip just has too much timing for the fuel being used today!
 
Ok, so my timing must be too advanced since i'm getting knock at 16 lbs of boost? should i be trusting the scanmaster knock numbers? should I adjust anything on the MAF translator?
 
i dont think u can adjust anything with ur translator unless it is the plus version. in that case u can adjust timing and fueling thru the translator plus. what is ur lowest o2 voltage? when is the knock occuring? speed, gear?

i would trust the knock numbers. they did lower alittle when u dropped the boost down, so either drop the boost down further or get the octane of the gas up to 96 or so and see if it goes away completely. i see earlier u mentioned getting an alky kit. that would allow u to run more boost and get u around the 11's with a good tune and good 60ft. time!
