scw7080: Rough Idle & Sputtering

Hi Room,
I recently purchased a 1987 GN. The car idles rough and when I step on the accelerator it sputters, then catches, and has a bit of backfire. It does not feel powerful. Any ideas as to how serious the problem may be?

Welcome aboard.
FIRST, do not step on it anymore!!!!!!! If you are lucky you didn't already blow a head gasket. I would not drive it until you figure out what the problem is. It could be something minor right now but continuing to drive it in this condition can wreak havoc.

Please spend some time reading here on the board.

Do you have a scanmaster or any logging/tuning devices?
What are the mods to the car?
What chip?
Do you have ALKY?
Have you done spring cleaning?
Have you checked the IC hoses?
Have you checked the fuel pressure?
TPS setting?
IAC setting?
Water in the oil?
We need more info to help you.
