search function not working?

No matter what i try to search for, or how i try to search for it, I come up with "sorry, no results" everytime. For example, if i search for 'GN' in all forums it says theres no results. something tells me that is not true. The site used to do this occasionally to me before for brief periods, but this time it has been going on for several days. Any ideas?? is this a site problem, or something on my end I can fix. If its a site thing, what the cause? Is this going to be fixed anytime soon? Thanks for the help!!

I've found that words in the search have to be more than 3 letters long.... Whether that's a rule or an anomaly I don't know. Maybe a Mod can chime in here for the correct answer.
