That horse still holds the records for all 3 races of the triple crown. It's always amazing to watch how he starts out at the back and then charges to the front every time. I also read that each time he raced, he was actually accelerating towards the finish line instead of slowing down as most horses due because they are getting tired as they near the finish. Other amazing fact is if you notice, Ron Turcotte the jockey never whips Secretariat for more speed, the horse just ran as fast as he could all the time. I know his Belmont race is still considered as one of the greatest athletic performances ever.
